Setting up the blog

The process of setting up the blog was relatively straight forward. Following along with the steps provided in class, I was able to successfully get the blog running. That being said, I do not know how to change anything beyond what was instructed by the professor. I am unaware of really how to edit or add anything. I’m sure my familiarity with the program will come with time, I am looking forward to becoming more comfortable with the software to be able to use it as a helpful tool!

As an educational tool, I think this program could be very useful so long as the teacher is highly comfortable with the program to be able to guide students through the process. This type of platform gives students a voice and the antonym to express learning in their own way. For younger students, I’m not sure this would be appropriate as there are quite a few steps. A classroom shared blog might be a simpler way of incorporating this into an elementary classroom, where the teacher is the curator and the students add their own posts to the shared blog. My opinion is sure to change as I become more familiar with the site (20 minutes is not enough time to formulate anopinion). I hope that by the end of the semester I will be comfortable enough with the program to use it in a classroom of my own.
